Scotland Motorcycle Tour 2013

Perth > Crieff > Glen Coe > Eilean Donan > Isle of Skye > Applecross > Gairloch > Ullapool > Durness

iansmallAfter my tour back in 2011 I was keen to get back on the bike and repeat the trip – this year it happened!

The weather wasn’t quite as kind to us as last time but with five motorbikes, a kit car and an old school Mini hitting the road, we weren’t too bothered.

Our first stop on day 1 was at Glen Coe for a burger but we were thwarted by the fact the burger van wasn’t there.

Glen Coe was overcast and low cloud was looming.

The road out of Durness.

The Mini near Tongue.

Rock formations on Durness beach.

Applecross looking moody. I really wish I had brought my full camera gear at this stage!

Birds flying near our hostel on Skye.

A small boat hut on the approach to Durness.

Overall I covered about 800 miles through all types of weather and yet again the VFR800, even closing in on 40,000 miles, was faultless at every stage. Roll on the next tour!
