Falkirk Wheel Night Shoot

iansmallThe Falkirk Wheel, a large rotating boat lift which connects the Forth and Clyde canal with the Union canal, is a fantastic feat of engineering and PK Perspective were lucky enough to be given permission to shoot the area after hours.

This £17.5 million structure stands tall above you yet is well hidden until you get very close to it. In the dark, a mass of LED lighting rotate in sequence from purple, blue, green and yellow.

Ten of us hailing from Perth, Dundee and Kirriemuir had made the trip through, armed with our tripods and shutter release cables, and we weren’t disappointed with the location.

I’d like to send a big thanks to the people that run the Wheel, including the security guard who was very helpful and informative.

sarahsmallSo good to get out on a proper photo shoot again. And the location was fabulous and kinda pretty for a big construction. Though it was pretty cold it was worth every minute and got some fabulous shots. The sight was big enough so we weren’t tripping over each other and getting into each others shots, though we did tend to loose each other, but then that’s what mobile phones are made of. All in all a good shoot, a fun night with good company (except Ian of course!!)
